BRASS FEST SOCA MADNESS Featuring Machel Montano HD
His name is synonymous with soca music. He dynamite on stage. He is the hottest soca artist on the scene today. His name is Machel Montano and he’s going to “mash-up de place” on Friday night, August 31 at the Brooklyn Museum grounds.
This is a night when the 20 somethings and 30 somethings will come out to party. Machel is not going to disappoint and he’s supported by a cast of high-energy, high-octane performers that will electrify the grounds of the Brooklyn Museum as they do their thing.
“Machel is the soca master. He’s a 3-time soca monarch of Trinidad and Tobago and he’s performed all over the world to sell-out crowds. We’re fortunate to get him to perform here at our version of Carnival City 2012. We’re expecting a standing room only event with Machel lighting up the stage. This going ot be real soca madness,” said Michael Greaves of WIADCA’s Entertainment Committee.
Machel will be joined by a cast that includes Patrice Roberts, Farmer Nappy, Barbados’ Edwin Yearwood and Krosfyah and Dominica’s Zouk band, WCK. The cast reflects WIADCA’s push for “Caribbean inclusiveness” in the festival and recognition that putting together a Caribbean Cast is a sensible, sound policy.
