Special invite to the NY CARNIVAL ART EXHIBIT on April 2nd, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Our mas bands and artists/designers will feature their costumes in an art installation at the WIADCA OFFICE located at Major R Owens Health and Wellness Community Center - 1561 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

READING CARPET (click to read)

On February 26th, Author Stephanie L. Blair will be in attendance at WIADCA's new series titled "Reading Carpet" where WIADCA will promote reading to the youth year-round. We start with Blair's book titled "Sadie's Caribbean Alphabet" in Black History Month as a launch to a year filled of learning and sharing over the important narratives within our community.

HOLIDAY NEWSLETTER (click to read)

West Indian American Day Carnival Association celebrated its Annual Children's Holiday Celebration & Toy Drive this past Sunday December 12th at their new home at the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Center at 1561 Bedford Ave in Brooklyn New York. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, treats & toys with a special meet & greet with Santa. WIADCA greeted over 400 children from the community.

On Monday September 6th, New York Carnival along with Mayor Bill de Blasio and a group of community leaders marched down the parkway to keep the culture alive. Keeping our community safe was so important this year. NY Carnival Celebrations ran from September 2nd to September 6th.

Since the pandemic, WIADCA has provided groceries, PPE supplies and hot food to the elderly and those in need through the WIADCA Cares initiative. The organization has seen an increase in demand for hot food service within Brooklyn and the surrounding Crown Heights community.
